The colors are particularly vivid, the yellows contrasting against the dark purple. I think it looks like an autumn scene, though it could be any time of year. I think with Renoir painting lilies so singularly spectacular, it is intimidating to even try my hand at it. What could ever match his style? I like lilies, however, so why not give it a go?
