painting: lily pond

Afloat 11″x14″

I think with Renoir painting lilies so singularly spectacular, it is intimidating to even try my hand at it. What could ever match his style?

I like lilies, however, so why not give it a go? I do wish a little bit I painted more like Renoir, but then, he already did that, didn’t he. Comparison can be the death of creativity. You do you, as they say.

I like the array of colors in the flower, it really spoke to me. I painted from a reference photo shared by Jane Ashley.

11″x14″ oil on cradled wood board. Available in my Etsy shop. 🙂
