These are 8″x8″ paintings, but even so small, there’s a lot of detail and they carry off portraiture very well. I think both have very strong results. These were commissioned items, so not for sale.
I have in mind washed-out colors when I start these lily ponds. But then the colors never cooperate, and the painting goes somewhere else. Because this is the complete opposite of washed out. Still, it’s lovely, isn’t it? This is a custom piece and already sold.
I finished knitting the mitts and had plenty of yarn left over, so went on and knit a cowl. I prefer a cowl to a scarf, because you don’t have the long ends flopping all over.
