Getting horses to pose well together is always a challenge. They hang out in groups, but don’t do a lot of interacting. Peeking over a shoulder is sometimes the best I can hope for. These two were coming to investigate me.
I think I like this close up better than the whole finished painting. When I am painting, though, I never like to cut the ears off the image. This close up makes the whole image more abstract as patches of color.
