I was looking through my bird photos, and noticed these sweet baby goldfinches learning from their mamas. I was hiding in the garage with the door open, allowing for the natural light. My new camera does not take photos through windows well–for some reason a lot of darkness is added to the scene, even if it is a bright day and the camera lens is pressed right up against the window glass. So taking photos of our neighborhood birds just got a lot trickier.
You have to look carefully to pick out all the birds, they blend in so well to the sunflower stems.
What is that mama bird in the second photo? Not a goldfinch. She is so plain, I wonder what her spouse looks like? I will have to find my bird identifying book!
Update: My photo isn’t the best angle for the bird, but I think she’s a house finch.
