Hello, everyone! We went to a new friend’s home who raises goats and chickens. I can’t ever have enough goat photos!
I love the way I cropped this one for the blog! I am going to paint her this way. I don’t know why I always try to fit all the ears into a painting, because this example is a much more exciting view.
I might paint an armful of hen sometime, too. We had barred rock hens a couple years ago, they’re supposed to be the most docile, but ours apparently were not prime breed examples. This hen certainly looks content to be held, though.
And the eggs. I’ll definitely paint these! Do you see the green egg off to the left?
This collie (named Lassie because wow did she like to take care of the kids!) was very camera shy.
And lastly more goats. And kids!
Do you see how the goat above has lowered her hind quarters? That’s because she’s making it easy for the kids to nurse. Kids around? She’d hunch down, just in case. What a good mom.
I think this is the first time I have got lots of long-haired goat photos. I did not know their coats grew so luxurious in winter.
More goat paintings coming soon!
