I showed off some fabric I bought last week, remember? Instead of committing to a quilt (which of course I still want to do) I decided to give my new-found bag-making skills a shot. I used these excellent directions to get the basics down. It turned out looking pretty professional, no? I used innerfacing on the outer fabric, but not on the lining. I thought it would just be TOO stiff.
It’s great for spring! Very cheerful! It turned out to be a mini-tote, although I’d originally envisioned a shoulder bag. The handles are just too long, so it’s a tote! I’ve got a bunch of other fabric cut out waiting for more exploration. I do need to buy some more innerfacing (rats, I forgot until just now), and I ordered magnetic closures via ebay. At least 10 days out on those…but I can get some of the preliminary sewing done while waiting!
