Boy, this one ended up taking me a lot longer than I planned. Janine, while you were visiting I was cutting out squares for this. I found just the right backing fabric, and now it is finished.
We went to the park to see if we could get some playful photos. The weather was not cooperating, but at least we had a fun time.
There’s a slough inlet in the background, and the hills on the far side of the Columbia.
The area is a nature preserve, so there’s lots of dense underbrush perfect for birdwatching.
And lots of room for exploring.
I don’t know what plant made this seed pod, but it’s pretty.
And I did not know the sagebrush went to seed like this. I wonder if this is what I am allergic to?
And a few more photos of the quilt.
It’s an I-Spy quilt, so you can spend time challenging your little girl to find various images: Green butterflies…a hummingbird…a horse…a walrus…a scarf…pink zig zags…and on and on, because there’s 60 different fabrics used, so lots of variety. It’s a good item for having in a car, or for teaching words while laying on the floor.
The quilt is 53″ by 44″, and is all cotton. I have it for sale now in my etsy shop .
